DAY 11

Today was special, as the Grand Canyon showed us her most prized gem...Havasu Canyon. It could very easily have been missed, the entrance being no more
than a thin crack in the canyon wall. But the bevy of rafts and dories that were tethered to the shackles in the walls gave us clear indication...this was the famed place!
On first inquiry, I was told the hike up to Havasupai Falls was "short", about 2 miles. But, after I hiked about 3 miles, I asked again and got this answer: 5 more miles to go.
I decided that the crystal clear blue pools of warm water at the base of the river were every bit as good as those at the top, and turned around to spend the rest of my day
swimming and wading...and taking pictures and video...and drinking beer. Evidently by the lively crowd, this is exactly what the tourboats bring the tourists there to do.
