Listening Tables

Ever go to a restaurant or coffee shop and wish you could sit down next to someone, or that someone would sit next to you?

Would you like to practice your listening skills on someone you don't know in a safe public setting?

Would you like to dine with someone who knew that the expectation for sitting there is to listen to one another, in turn?

You can have a table at your favorite coffee shop or restaurant, or even school cafeteria deemed "The Listening Table."

Listening Planet will send you a set of the Listening Cards with a ring through them and a cord for attaching to the table, a table tent with a nicely decorated "Listening Table" written on it, and brief instructions for how to use a Listening Table. We are currently designing a Listening Table bowl to hold the deck of Listening Cards for the center of the table.

Write to us and ask us for these free items (with a purchase of The Listening Cards).

During the week there is a designated

table at the gather place with a bowl

with The Listening Cards in it. It is

the Listening Table. Anyone who sits

there is open to listen and to share

with whoever wishes to sit down

there. They do not have to be trained

in listening to listen here, although

they are encouraged by a flyer at

each table to attend one in the

future. Marcia McReynolds, the

Listening Lady, will frequent these

tables and listen to people for

a donation.
