I was working on contract for Multimedia Resources, Inc before I started my own design studio, MediaMania. This was among the very first interfaces I designed, using a hand-drawn sketch to start with. The idea was to have the clubhouse wall drop away upon ringing the bell on screen, and various Disney store products would be visible in the rooms, touch to access info. The highlight was a jukebox-like interface to play video. MMI presented to Buena Vista Group; I don't think we won that bid contract, but it was a fun concept.
Without yet the refinement of a Disney illustration (I have inked Disney characters for ViewMaster slides)…I quickly sketched and colorized this concept. In the windows we had Mickey, Goofy and Pluto poking heads out and the audio of their voices beckoning, “Ring the Bell”.
The child rings the bell, the wall drops away. I used the jukebox as the live example.
Touch it and the jukebox interface pops on screen…

The screen darkens and the video trailer plays.
